Find the Rose within…

A certain man planted a rose, watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it.

He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought, “How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns? Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom, it died.

This is just a story. But it happens with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us already, grow amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects. We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our true potential.

So don’t waste your potentiality. We all are here because we deserve it. Find the rose within and let it grow, then only you will come to know how beautiful you are.

Peace of Mind

Today I will share a story to make you aware with a simple way to get the peace of mind.

Once Buddha was walking from one town to another town with a few of his followers. This was in the initial days. While they were travelling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, “I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there.”

The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that some people were washing clothes in the water and right at that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, “How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink!” So he came back and told Buddha, “The water in there is very muddy. I don’t think it is fit to drink.”

After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The disciple obediently went back to the lake. This time he found that the lake had absolutely clear water in it. The mud had settled down and the water above it looked fit to be had. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.

Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said, “See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be and the mud settled down on its own – and you got clear water. Your mind is also like that. When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don’t have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen. It is effortless.”

What did Buddha emphasize here? He said, “It is effortless.” Having ‘peace of mind’ is not a strenuous job; it is an effortless process. When there is peace inside you, that peace permeates to the outside. It spreads around you and in the environment, such that people around start feeling that peace and grace.

Don’t only work hard, work smart…

We sometimes feel that we are spending so much time to achieve some goal, but why can’t we reach upto the level? We try hard and harder but the result becomes same even worse. But why? we search for the ‘why’ thing more and more, but can’t get it. In this case, let me share a story which will help you to find the ‘why’ thing.

Once upon a time a very strong woodcutter ask for a job in a timber merchant and he got it. The paid was really good and so were the work conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to work. The first day, the woodcutter brought 18 trees.”Congratulations,” the boss said. “Go on that way!” Very motivated by the boss’ words, the woodcutter try harder the next day, but he only could bring 15 trees. The third day he try even harder, but he only could bring 10 trees.Day after day he was bringing less and less trees. “I must be losing my strength”, the woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on. “When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” the boss asked. “Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…”

I think, you already understood what I am talking about. There is no doubt that we all have so much potential within us, but we have to use it properly, we have to use it effeiciently. So whenever you want to reach a goal, don’t only work hard, work smart, you will achieve it obviously.

Listen to your heart…

We experienced a lot of things in life. We visit a famous place to see the beauty of those places, but most of the time, we overlook the small small things that are always around us, but still unknown.

Have you ever walked in a lonely road in a moonlit light, when nobody is there? If yes, you know why I am telling this. It is like nobody is watching me, I am the only one in the world and I am independent to do anything. For those small moments, I am only mine, just mine. It is looking like the self-centered nature, but it’s not actually. We should spend a minimum time everyday being ourself only, to talk with the inner self. I bet, you will feel tremendously well for that little time.

Most of the time, we don’t listen to our heart, we just ignore our inner words. But be yourself first, then only you can be of others also. Take care. Have a great weekend.

It’s your life, make it LARGE…

In our daily life we see so many advertisements, hoardings, captions but we generally don't go through in the detail of those, we just see them and forget. I even forget most of the lines, but some lines of a particular advertisement made me think in a little different way that the life we are leading, are we happy with our life, are we living our life at its fullest?

There are so many things we do in our life. We study, get a good marks, achieve some degree and then get placed in a reknown company. But is that all we are dreaming about? Sometimes we think that we have so much time to live, so let's complete all the academic dreams first, then we will think about the rest. But most of the time it happens we spend our whole life to complete one particular dream and at the end of the life we saw, there are so many dreams unfulfilled what we dreamt about from the childhood. That's very very true dear. A quotation cites the perfect solution for that - "Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today".

So take a paper now and write down all the dreams you want to achieve. Categorize your big dreams into small small dreams and try to achieve it. And when you achieve it, put a tick beside them. In this way, you will see at the end of the life, most of the dreams of yours have been fulfilled and you will feel - "Yes, I have done something in my life."

Lastly, I am coming back to the topic I was talking about. The advertisement which inspire me to write all this things and it's better to end my article with that tagline only - "It's your life, make it LARGE."

Set priorities for the work…

We are probably going through the busiest phase of our life, the job life. Sometimes we even think of that if a day will have more than 24 hours, then probably we can complete all the works we have. But that is not possible naturally, so the only option remains, we have to schedule ourselves in a better way that we can do every task in a proper manner.
I just want to share with you a easier way to discipline yourself :

1. Take a pen-paper and write down all the tasks you have for the week.

2. Then write the deadline for every particular task.

3. Give numbers to all the tasks depending upon the deadlines.

4. Try to completing the tasks depending upon the numbers.

Sometimes we have so many works to do in a short period of time, but we can’t understand what to do first. So if you categorize your works in this way, then you can do all the tasks in a easier and disciplined way.
Be well.

4 steps for getting solutions

Problems are the part of our life. We can’t avoid problems, but there is some solution which makes your problem easier. I want to share some of them, hope it will help you to overcome the problems.

Ask 4 questions to yourself when you face any problems. Those are –

1. What is the problem?

Don’t think much about the problem; try to identify the problem properly.

2. Why the problem arises?
Collect the reasons for the problem.

3. Which thing I should do now?
What can I do now? There is no point in thinking only about the problem without any efforts.

4. How the problem can be overcome?
Plan the steps by which the problem can be solved.

If any problems are beyond that, then it’s not in your hand. So stop worrying about the problem and let it happen. Just remember one thing, what is happening in your life ultimately it is happening for your good only. Be positive always. Be well.
